Jubilee's Centre Director and Interaxion's Group President, Professor James Arthur, attended a meeting at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 15th March, as a member of the Advisory Council of Step Up to Serve, under the leadership of the organisation’s patron HRH the Prince of Wales. Professor Arthur was able to speak to the Council about the Habits of Service research that the Jubilee Centre is conducting in collaboration with thousands of volunteers in Britain. He also met the Prince and discussed the work of the Jubilee Centre and the Prince spoke publically about the importance of character.
Professor Arthur is Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Birmingham and the director of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues. He gives classes on “Education and Civic Commitment” and has authored many publications on the relation between theory and practice in education, especially on the ties between communitarianism, social virtues, citizenship, religion, and education.
