On October 20th, in the final event of the “Interaxion Congress: Character Education and Digital Lifestyles,” Professor James Arthur was publically announced as the new president of Interaxion Group.
Prof. Arthur was the director of the School of Education at the University of Birmingham from 2010 to 2015, in addition to being the head of CitizED, an organization dedicated to research and consulting about citizenship education.
Currently, he is Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Birmingham and the director of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues. He gives classes on “Education and Civic Commitment” and has authored many publications on the relation between theory and practice in education, especially on the ties between communitarianism, social virtues, citizenship, religion, and education.
